Fact Sheet – Compensation Financial Limits

(applicable for dismissals taking place on or after 1st February 2013)

  • maximum amount of a week’s pay (used for calculating a redundancy payment or for various awards including the unfair dismissal basic award): £450
  • The maximum basic award for unfair dismissal : £13,500
  • maximum amount of unfair dismissal compensatory award: £74,200
  • maximum total basic and compensatory awards for unfair dismissal £87,700
  • minimum amount of unfair dismissal basic award for trade union, health and safety, working time representative, pension scheme trustee and employee representative dismissals: £5,500
  • maximum guarantee payment per day: £24.20
