Training

One of the keys to being a good employer is having clear and effective employment documentation, workplace policies and procedures.  However, writing down your policies and producing them in manuals or on the intranet is no good if your managers and supervisors have no understanding of how to implement and work with them on a day to day basis.  So many workplace situations drag on unresolved or escalate out of control because of a failure to get to grips with the issue from the outset.  Equipping your managers and supervisors with an understanding of basic employment law principles and the skills to handle routine matters such as sickness absence, disciplinary hearings and grievances can save an inordinate amount of management time and avoid costly and time consuming employment tribunal proceedings.

Bulfin & Co. work to provide bespoke training packages for employers of all sizes.  What makes our training different to many of the “off the peg” training packages available, is that we devise our training programmes to our clients’ specification and train to your internal policies, procedures and employee documentation.

One of our most popular in house courses is aimed at new or inexperienced supervisors and managers and covers an introduction to some of the pitfalls of employment law, practical guidance on dealing with disciplinary hearings from first warning to dismissal, appeals and grievances.  Another popular training module gives practical guidance on handling short term and long term sickness absence and disability.

Any of our training modules can be put together and also combined with role play, question and answer sessions and training scenarios to produce your individual company training programme. We also design training modules for you and your managers to deliver as part of your employee development programmes.

A popular addition to our training programmes is our mentoring programme; one to one sessions with managers in your organisation who are new to employment law or just need some extra guidance or updating to deal with employee situations in the workplace.
